I just love this family!!! We have been friends for five years now and they also live across the street from us.  This shoot was definitely a funny one….windy….chasing kids….Kayla falling and smashing her head…yep, it lasted about 20 minutes!  Gotta love it! Even though it was short we had fun!

Last year I traveled to this family in New Mexico…but since I was really pregnant they came to me this year!  We love this family and were so happy to have them visit us for the weekend!  The girls are ADORABLE and I could squeeze them all day long!!!

This family is a special one….they are my cousins by marriage and I love it!  Amy is an amazing woman, Mom and friend.  Their little girl is having a few health problems currently and when they asked me to take their family pictures I was ecstatic because I knew how important they are right now.  My goal with every shoot is to capture the true essence of each family/individual, which can sometimes be difficult but this time I pushed myself to let things happen they way they should and not force the family to be something they aren’t and I feel like I succeeded more than I ever expected to.

If you haven’t seen a beautiful baby lately I am here to help!  Look at those BIG brown eyes!  She was the sweetest, most calm 7 month old ever.  Ok….so maybe she was a little tired because she decided not to take a nap in the morning like she usually does but hey, she was incredible!  And I must add that I think all babies just know they are about to have their pictures taken and just can’t sleep because they are so excited! haha…it seems like everyone says the same thing when I show up…oh, the baby decided not to sleep! That’s when I reassure them that it doesn’t matter….every baby is beautiful no matter what they are doing….crawling, smiling, spitting up, crying, clapping…the list goes on and on.

Last week I snapped a few pics of my niece…her Mom wanted pics before her cute “gummy” smile is gone for good!  She now has two teeth since we took these….she is growing up so fast!  I haven’t played with textures too much lately.  I’ve been focusing on leaving images in their natural state, not altering them with textures much.  But yesterday I decided to play with this image and I love it!

I was cleaning up my desktop today and stumbled across this session.  I’ve photographed this family before and I just love working with them!  They are so sweet and the kids love to smile for me….well, except for the little one but hey, he was teething and not very happy!  I know this is from 2009 but I thought it was worth sharing!

I decided to finish my Utah families right now….no more putting it off.  If you’ve ever wondered why I visit Utah so often it’s because of this family. Meet my husband’s cousin Michelle and her fabulous fam!  Even though we are family by marriage I feel as if we’ve been family our entire lives. She won’t admit to it, but she’s Wonder Woman. She is an amazing person, insanely talented, and a wonderful Mom.  I love visiting and taking pictures of her family but more than that I love seeing how her family works….the daily life that most don’t get to see.  She’s crazy busy with having six kids but she still manages to take treats to their classes, make amazing food for friends, spoil her husband’s co-workers with goodies and still has time to get her nails done! ha ha…Ok, I’m sure she doesn’t feel like she has free time but no matter what she says or thinks, she is amazing!

Keep an eye on the little guy in between Mom and Dad….he is placed there for a reason…he hates pictures and always screams!

I had the wonderful opportunity of traveling to Utah at the end of 2009.  It was a last minute, let’s just do it kind of trip but I’m so glad I went!  One of the families I photographed was the Hanson family…hello adorable!  We explored Main Street in American Fork and just had a good time….even thought it was a little cold!  I’m thinking next year I need to go in the fall, not the winter…Utah is freezing! ha ha.
